Lost Maples

Yesterday the weather was perfect and the leaves at Lost Maples were at their peak, so we decided to make the trip up to check it out. The colors were beautiful, and we had a great time. There were lots of people on the lower elevations, but not too many up higher. The slopes were very steep in places and the rocks made the climbing and descents dangerous. Our knees and ankles got a real workout. We took the East Trail, which, including the extra scenic overlook, was 5.2 miles. It took us three hours and ten minutes. We got some great pictures and we're already planning to go back next year to try out the West Trail.
