Town Hall Meeting
I listened in on a town hall meeting today. Henry Cuellar called and wanted my input. I wasn't selected, but did hear Dora Jo Carter put in her two cents worth. I had a couple of questions about the census and health care. He said census participation in Frio C. was 22%. I wanted to ask him about the car parked on main street trying to recruit census workers. I had questions about how much coverage would be required for low wage workers- deductibles and such. I don't see how waitresses and farm workers can afford coverage. I can barely afford the coverage with $7500 decuctible. I don't think congress has any idea about health insurance for self-employed people. They have their own plan payed for by the tax payers, and the idea of paying for your own coverage is alien to them.
